Question:
Can I choose a Vietnamese company for my major project? If I choose one of the top 500 companies, it would be a foreign company and many Vietnamese people may not know about it, so how can I interview them? And also, what if the company's products and services are not yet available in Vietnam?
Answer:
Well, you can choose VN company if you HAVE ENOUGH INFORMATION! Think carefully. A foreign company may not have a branch office in Vietnam, but thats ok. This is e-commerce, and it is supposed to enable customers from around the globe to make purchases. So geographical distance will not be a problem here. The company itself may not be popular in Vietnam (though it is well known in overseas) but thats ok, you can still interview Vietnamese people to see if they would be interested in such products or services if they are made available in Vietnam. Say, Dell computers, Vietnamese customers often buy Dell products from a retail shop (not a Dell shop) or alternatively, they can go to Dell.com and purchase. Dell does not have a manufacturing facility in Vietnam yet, so they would ship from other countries, say Malaysia. So, you can ask customers if they consider buying Dell products from the website. If the answer is No (since they can purchase from a retail store), you can go on and ask what would make them change their mind (cheaper price or something else). Remember that you are introducing e-commerce to the Vietnamese market.
